The Fives Courts in Ashburnham Garden were built in 1960s, relocating them from Little Dean’s Yard. Eton Fives courts take a very unique shape, copied from the architecture at Eton where the game was originally played.
Many of the features of the court are used tactically, but a few are simply recreated in each court for the sake of accuracy and serve no purpose in gameplay. The game is similar to squash but is played with the hands rather than with racquets.
